Since the major exhibition of works from the Böckmann Collection, Neues Museum has been showing a large ensemble of work by Gerhard Richter in the largest room on the upper floor.
The large number of works on permanent loan from the Böckmann Collection makes it possible to put together new selections of pictures at intervals. In this way, Neues Museum is able to permanently display one of the largest collections of works by Richter anywhere in the world.
Neues Museum considers it a great honour to have received a total of 69 works by Gerhard Richter, Gotthard Graubner, A. R. Penck and Isa Genzken from the Böckmann Collection on permanent loan. As a result, Neues Museum has the world’s third largest collection of works by Gerhard Richter.
