Vance Byrd, Presidential Associate Professor of German Studies and Art History at the University of Pennsylvania, will engage in a conversation with artist Alexandra Grant and authors Fatma Aydemir, Pauline Füg, Rasha Khayat, and Olivia Wenzel.
Grant’s works are inspired by the texts of these authors, which form the basis of the exhibition “One Star Is Enough to Believe in the Light.” The event’s thematic focus is a discussion of the commonalities and the cross-media approach to combining artistic and literary practices, viewing them as a space for rethinking freedom.
