The Institute for Ceramic and Glass Art (IKKG) at the University of Applied Science Koblenz is one of the few high-profile international institutions of fine art to offer selected students from around the world a comprehensive training with this special focus. The only course of its kind in Germany, it links modern sculpture with the teaching and study of ceramics and glass as timely materials.
At Neues Museum Nuremberg, students and graduates of the IKKG show works that address the theme of spatial experience. As well as relating to the foyer of the museum, they also play with the visitors’ perceptions and imagination, showing how a limited material framework can give rise to unlimited possibilities when functionality is no longer required, allowing art to take shape.
A cooperation between the Neues Museum and the IKKG of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, Höhr- Grenzhausen.
